Moosehead Lake

Relevant links

The Moosehead Lake is the biggest lake in Maine. It's length is 40 miles. If you arrive from south, visit information office in Greenville. Every year in September is here a big gathering of seaplane.

Just 5 miles north on the road No.16 and 5 is Squaw Brook camp - it is for free but without water. A few miles across the road is mountain Big Squaw (3 196 ft.). From the summit is great overlook to Moosehead Lake it's and western part. First fire tower in the nation was built here in 1905.

View Pond - a nice place without people. Pond is hid ed in forest. It is smaller than Moosehead so is pretty warm. I was here totally alone.
