State of Maine is the most northeastern state of the USA. Its extent is little bigger than Czech Republic's and live here approximately 1.2 million citizens. Nearly 90% of state is covered by forest and rest is, I dare say, consisted from lakes. Along shore are 2 000 islands and 63 lighthouses. The State is used like recreation area and has one national park Acadia. People living here are very friendly and hitchhiking is relatively easy here.
The capitol Augusta has about 20 000 citizens. The biggest town is in south situated Portland
