Oregon Dunes are situated along Pacific coast in a 80km long strip between Florence and Coos Bay. They spread just 5km to inland. Some of them are even 16m high. In this area are several campsites and if you are hot you can swim in a few ponds that are hidden in the dunes. I tried to reach the coast. Although I could hear noise of waves I did not success in reaching them because strip of forest. You have to take care and do not lost your way. All trace are very quickly smoothed by strong wind that blows from Pacific.
A lots of fun you can have by renting a motorbike or terrain car. Take care if you hike without shoes because near the forest I saw broken glass and i guess in this area are run night's parties...
